Day to Day Teachers

 Frequently asked questions | Candidates

In this section we will attempt to answer some of the more common questions we receive from both clients and candidates.

"How do I register to join Day to Day Teachers?"

We interview all our staff, so in order to register you will need to contact your local branch an make an appointment to come in and see us. Interviews take about 1 hour to complete and we will run through your previous experience and what type of work you are looking for. You will need to bring some information along. You can find the information checklist by clicking here.

"Can you send me all the paper work in the post?"

You can download the registration form online and send this in to us prior to registration. However you can not complete the registration process without visiting your local office. This is due to the fact that our registration process includes a face to face interview with one of our consultants. This helps you get to know us as well as letting you get to know us.

"Will I have to pay to join Day to Day teachers?"

No, joining Day to Day Teachers is free. The only outlay you may have is for the cost of your CRB check( if you do not have one that is currently valid). The cost your CRB is £36. Day to Day Teachers does not add on any additional cost to this.

"Do you take on NQT's?"

Yes, NQT's are always welcome. Even if you have only recently finished your course. Many NQT's work on supply for the first year after they have qualified in order to gain some experience. It is also a very good way to find the type of school you are most suited to.

"Who will be my point of contact?"

Every candidate will be assigned to a dedicated consultant when they join Day to Day, quite often this will be the consultant that conducts your interview. This person will be the main point of contact and will help you with any queries you may have.

"Can I still work for my local school / other agency whilst I work for Day to Day?"

The benefits of working on supply is that it is a wholly flexible approach to teaching, you only work when you want to. If you have other commitments elsewhere just let us know, and we will work around your availability.

"If I submit my timesheet late will I still get paid and when will I get paid?"

As directed on the timesheet information page, our cut off for timesheets is 12 noon on the Monday following the week you have worked . If any Timesheets are received after this time they will be held to be processed the following week. You will then be paid on the Friday of that corresponding  week.

"If I work for more than one agency, how do I make sure I am on the correct tax code?"

In order to make your tax code work more efficiently you need to ensure that the agency that employs you the most is the one that holds your correct tax code. You will need to provide them with your most recent P45, or inform your tax office. If you are on basic rate tax you will need to complete a P46.

"What checks will be carried out when I register?"

Day to Day Teachers carry out rigorous checks on all potential staff. You will have to be interviewed by one of our dedicated consultants in your local office. We will then check your qualifications, take contact details of referee's, gain a brief medical history.   Day to Day Teachers also requires all staff to have a current Criminal Records Bureau check and List 99 check.
